After the success of Boys Over Flowers, Kim Hyun Joong stars in another anticipated live-action manga adaptation in 2010, the MBC drama Playful Kiss based on Tada Kaoru's Itazura na Kiss. Previously adapted for television in Japan and Taiwan (It Started With a Kiss), the youth romance revolves around bumbling schoolgirl Ha Ni who is head over heels in love with her school's top student, handsome and arrogant genius Seung Jo. After an earthquake destroys Ha Ni's house, she and her family end up living with Seung Jo's family, paving the way for a mishap-filled romance. Up-and-coming actress Jung So Min from Bad Guy stars as the heroine opposite Kim Hyun Joong, while Lee Tae Sung (Terroir) plays the goofy admirer.
